LISTEN: How searching helps wild turkey restoration


Did wildlife administration assist convey wild turkey populations again from the brink?

A century in the past, wild turkeys have been a uncommon sight in lots of elements of the US. Populations have been estimated to be 200,000 or much less throughout the nation. By means of science-based conservation and administration, schooling, and sound coverage, the Nationwide Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) helped develop turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) populations to over 6 million.

On this episode, Katie Perkins and Ed Arnett of The Wildlife Society be part of Mark Hatfield, former nationwide director of science and planning, Jen Davis, searching and taking pictures R3 coordinator for Michigan and Teresa Carroll, schooling and outreach program coordinator of the NWTF at turkey camp to share how their work has contributed to this exceptional restoration.
