Deep southerlies have been blowing since yesterday and I have been holding my eye on the chook information and the skies for Pallid Swifts that are virtually assured regionally in this sort of climate system. I did a bit within the backyard this morning however solely 25 Redwings of be aware.
At about 1.30pm the Hunters despatched out a message on the native Whatsapp group that they’d simply had two Swifts offshore Selsey Invoice so I instantly deserted the household and my submit and headed down there. I spent the remainder of the day (till nightfall) ready on the Invoice however alas the Swifts have been nowhere to be seen. Liz Hunter has just a few images of the birds they usually look good for Pallids – hopefully will get some extra element after we see the images on a pc later. There’s just one earlier file of Pallid Swift for the Peninsula so will probably be a mega native file.
A bonus pale part grownup Pom full with spoons was a little bit of a comfort prize and passage was regular off the Invoice with 112 Kittiwake transferring west, 58 Gannet, a presumed Arctic Tern and some auks HERE.
The moth entice was dissappointing this morning contemplating the climate situations, only a Delicate was the one sniff of a brand new migrant. I will be very stunned if there aren’t migrants tonight after the Swifts off the Invoice and the winds now blowing for properly over 24 hours and feeling fairly humid now with air from far south.
